Stretching between the train station next to the Marina Mirage complex and St Crispin's is the Bally Hooley Steam Railway where a vintage train runs every weekend and on public holidays along a 4km scenic route around Port Douglas.
Once used as a means to transport sugar and passengers between Mossman and the wharf, the line is today maintained by a group of volunteers who aim to preserve an important part of Port Douglas's history and heritage.
The route used by the Bally Hooley Steam Railway typically starts at the boutique Marina Mirage complex and passes through a series of picturesque mangroves, resorts, villas and a golf-course.
Tickets can be purchased on the train itself or at the Sun Palm Express office at the Marina Mirage. Private train charters are also available for group tours or functions.
